Gernot Possnien MBA, CMA
Chief Operations Officer
Gernot Possnien, is a healthcare and finance professional, currently serving as Operations Directors at Nephro Arabia since the ... beginning of 2021. Prior to Nephro Arabia, Gernot served in various finance and operational roles at Fresenius Medical Care in the Middle East region and in Europe. Between 2013 and 2020, Gernot was Finance Director for Fresenius Medical Care in the Middle East region, following two years as Chief Executive Officer and Finance Director in a management contract for the dialysis services of the public health service provider in the emirate of Abu Dhabi. From 2001 till 2011, he has held various operational and finance positions focusing on improving and growing the dialysis service network (“NephroCare”) of Fresenius Medical Care in the EMEA region.
Dr. Ahmad Ojjeh
Consultant Nephrologist Chief Medical Officer
Has over 34 years of experience as a Nephrologist. He earned his DIS in Nephrology from the University of Paris V in Paris, France in 1989. ... Prior to that, he obtained an MD in Medicine from Damascus University in Damascus, Syria in 1984. During the early years of his career, Dr. Ahmad worked as a Nephrologist at leading hospitals in France. He then moved to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where he served as the Head of the Nephrology Department at Riyadh Medical Complex and Prince Salman Bin Abdul-Aziz Hospital for five years. Dr. Ahmad subsequently moved to Syria and joined a leading multi-specialty tertiary hospital. He became the Director of the Kidney Hospital in Damascus, Syria, and initiated and started the first kidney transplant program in the Ministry of Health. In 2010, after serving one year as Director of Hospitals Directorate in the Ministry of Health in Damascus, he became the General Director of Damascus Hospital (the largest hospital in Syria). In 2013, Dr. Ahmad moved to the United Arab Emirates, helping to initiate the Nephrology and Dialysis Department at Sheikh Khalifa General Hospital in Umm Al Quwain, and served as Head of the Department for nine years before joining Burjeel Home Care in 2022. Dr. Ahmad has been working as Chief Medical Officer/Consultant Nephrologist in Nephro Arabia since 2023.

Muhammad Awwad has been the Director of Nursing at Nephro Arabia since 2018. Before this role, he gained significant experience in ... clinical, research, and leadership positions in the UAE, including Renal Program Patient Care Manager at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City – Abu Dhabi and Nursing Operation Manager at The Outpatient Specialty Clinics from 2007 to 2017. He excels in building high-performance teams and improving clinical, operational, and financial outcomes. Muhammad is skilled in strategic and operational planning for clinical services, leading initiatives to ensure nursing excellence. Earlier in his career, he held various nursing managerial roles in the UK at St Mary’s Hospital NHS Trust, Hammersmith Hospital, and St Charles Renal Centre. Muhammad holds a Nursing Diploma from Jordan, a Bachelor's in Clinical Nursing from the University of Hertfordshire, a 2014 MBA from Chifley Business School, and a 2016 Master of Applied Business Research from Swiss Business School..
